the age of paper

Oh my, this is simply stunning:

sky high hair

Aren't these elaborate, intricate, and gorgeous? They're straight out of a 1800s fairy tale, and i can imagine Marie Antoinette in Versailles wearing one for an elegant ball. But if it's a masquerade, what could you possibly wear?

Nikki Salk and Amy Flurry partnered to make these stunning masks and updos out of, unexpectedly, paper. They transformed the common white paper we all know into magnificent animals as part of their animalia series for their paper-cut project. Truly special, they deserve to be seen and admired as modern genius, and the attention to detail is incroyable! My favorite is the owl and the wig with une petite fluer, and imagine wearing one, with great care of course! The duo is clearly one to watch, and look for them in the near future. The masks will be displayed at Jeffrey New York and Atlanta in 2010.

new beginnings

I decided, after reading blogs that catch my eye, to try anew. With my old blog Fashion Download abandoned after lack of personal interest, and the new year coming soon, it's time to create a different type of blog-
One with inspirational pictures, dream outfits, advice, and a healthy dose of commentary on life and its quirks.

So today I bought a dress for when it gets warmer:
Cosmos Delight Dress

I have to say, I do love it! The print is adorable, and its perfect for a night at the country club or a formal occasion. Pair it with a crystal statement necklace, which are my obsession, a cardigan or jacket, and you're ready to go. A dress like this conjures ideas of picnicking in the spring or afternoon tea in an estate garden, so enjoy with just a sprinkling of sparkle and a smile as you sip your tea.
Happy frolicking!
